Does God really exist? While most Americans believe this, we may wonder or have moments of doubt in terms of practical experiences and reality. And is God really in control? If He is in control, then why is the world spinning off its axis and out of control? In the deepest parts of our soul we all ask these questions about God and how He works in the world. It seems logical that the only way to have a big fat piggy is to put money inside of it. But there is a supernatural principle of the piggy bank that God established for us—it’s the principle of breaking the piggy bank with generosity toward God.

As children, we all broke into our piggy banks to take money out of it to spend on silly needless items. As a result, we could never save any money and the piggy bank was never well fed. As adults, we need to understand that the lack of a budget and the debt that follows will harm our piggy banks. We’ll examine how a budget works to help you avoid debt so that you can protect your big fat piggy bank from being empty.

When we were kids, we all had a piggy bank.  Our goal was to save up our allowances, our money from odd jobs, birthday and Christmas gift money, and any other sources of income we could find and put it into our piggy bank so that we could save it all up for something really nice.  The problem?  Within a few weeks (or days) we would consistently break into the piggy bank and spend money out of it for lots of smaller and less important items.  So while we wanted to “feed the piggy” with money so that it would increase, we ultimately “starved the piggy” instead by being undisciplined.  Lots of people still need to learn the lesson of the piggy bank,  and in this series, we’ll look at three important principles from Scripture to help you own a “big fat piggy”.
